STATS TO CHEERS OVER
-- Falcons running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier each scored a touchdown against the Jets. Allgeier had a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and Robinson had a 5-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Allgeier now has eight scrimmage touchdowns this season, while Robinson has seven. No other running back duo in the NFL has at least seven touchdowns apiece.
-- Robinson totaled 193 yards from scrimmage. It was his third game with at least 175 yards from scrimmage this season, which is the most by any active player. Robinson has had an NFL-best four games with at least 150 yards from scrimmage, too. His eight games with at least 100 yards from scrimmage tie for second-most with two other players.
-- Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 234 yards. It marked his 132nd career game with more than 200 yards passing, which tied Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco for fourth-most among active players.
-- Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr. sacked Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor in the fourth quarter, giving him five on the season. Edge rusher Jalon Walker also has five sacks this season. The Falcons are one of four teams in the last 10 years with multiple rookies with at least five sacks in a single season. The others are the 2024 Denver Broncos, the 2023 Los Angeles Rams and the 2022 Detroit Lions.
FACTS TO SIP ON
-- Atlanta now has an 8-6 record since 2023 when keeping an opponent scoreless in the first quarter. It's 3-3 this season alone in that regard.
-- The Falcons held the Jets to 71 yards of total offense in the first half, the lowest total allowed by Atlanta's defense in any half this season. The Jets added 198 yards of total offense in the second half, though. They had one drive in the fourth quarter net out to 65 yards.
-- Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. had a team-high 82 yards receiving. The Falcons are now 10-3 all-time when Pitts has at least 70 yards receiving.
-- Falcons punter Bradley Pinion placed a career-best five punts within the red zone. His six punts overall tied his single-game high this season, previously doing so in the Week 10 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts. However, the rest of special teams did not perform well. There was a muffed punt lost, a 50-yard missed field goal and an 83-yard kickoff return given up. The kickoff return was the longest the Falcons had let get by since 2021, when the Washington Commanders had a 101-yard kickoff returned for a touchdown during their Week 4 win.
QUOTING RAHEEM MORRIS
On whether the weather affected play...
"Nobody cares about the atmosphere. They played in the same atmosphere we played in."
On if he wants to make a coaching staff change...
"We don't make emotional decisions, we know that. We won't talk about those things. We never do that. It's not our code. It's not our ethics. It's not who we are. It's not what we are. It's not a decision, that's not what we do today."
QUOTING THE FALCONS
Edge rusher James Pearce Jr.
On the frustration from another loss
"There's always a lot of would of, could of, should of. At the end of the day, we just want to win."
Punter Bradley Pinion
On how special teams can fix recent issues
"Let's go back to the basics. Come back to punting the ball well, kicking the ball well, covering well. Really, the basics. That's what special teams is, just keep going back to the basics, doing it week-in and week-out and not get tired of doing the mundane."
QUOTING THE OPPONENT
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn
On special teams being a difference-maker in the outcome
"We spend a lot of time making sure we get that part of our team on point because I believe that you need all three phases to be able to win the game, and those guys have been coming through for us damn near every game."
Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor
On being able to close out the game victorious
"It wasn't a perfect game by any means, but we speak about our brand of football and being complimentary to one another, all three phases, and I think this was a perfect game to show that. Oense had its moments, defense had its moments, and special teams had their moments. We were able to put it together and nish."
