The Seahawks wrapped up their 2026 draft by selecting Michael Dansby, a cornerback out of the University of Arizona, with pick No. 255 in the seventh round.

Dansby was the final pick of Seattle's eight-player draft class, and one of four defensive backs picked by the Seahawks.

Dansby, who is from Oakland, began his college career at San Jose State before transferring to Arizona, where he recorded 10 passes defensed and two interceptions in 2025.

"I'm a man-coverage player, for sure," Dansby said when asked about his game. "You're going to see the effort on the film, you're going to see the effort on the practice field. You're getting a highly explosive speedster that can really cover."

Dansby is eager to join a Seahawks defense he followed closely last year.

"Honestly, the Seahawks defense was the defense I watched the most all year, literally," he said. "I'm beyond excited, beyond blessed. My words cannot (express) how blessed I am right now to be part of the Seattle Seahawks."

As a seventh-round pick, Dansby plans to come in and make his presence felt on special teams.

"Gunner is my main thing," he said. "Gunner is where I'm going to make my money for sure this upcoming season. Gunner, jammer, running down on kickoffs."
