Report: Raiders tender three exclusive rights free agents
The Raiders have reportedly tendered contracts to three exclusive rights free agents: DE Charles Snowden and C Will Putnam,per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, and S Tristin McCollum,per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
An exclusive rights free agent is a player with fewer than three accrued seasons and an expired contract. If the player's original team offers him a one-year contract at the league minimum (based on his credited seasons), the player cannot negotiate with other teams.
Report: Raiders expected to release QB Geno Smith
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders are expected to release quarterback Geno Smith, barring a trade, before the new league year begins on March 11.
Smith was acquired by the Raiders via trade with the Seattle Seahawks last season. In 15 games for the Silver and Black, Smith completed 67.4% of his passes for 3,025 yards, 19 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
