John Oehser

JACKSONVILLEThe Jaguars on Wednesday practiced at the Miller Electric Center.

The Jaguars (4-3) will play the Las Vegas Raiders (2-5) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., Sunday in a 2025 Week 9 game.A look at Wednesday around the Jaguars withHead Coach Liam Coen speaking to the mediabefore practice andquarterback Trevor Lawrence speaking to the media after practice:

  • Lawrence's confidence in the offense remains high.

While the Jaguars haven't been as explosive or as consistent offensively through seven games as would be ideal, the fifth-year veteran called the issues facing the offense "very correctable things and things that I know that we can execute and can do well and we can be a really good offense."

The Jaguars, while ranking 15th in the NFL at 334.9 yards per game, rank 25th in scoring at 20.9 points per game. They averaged less than 10 points in back-to-back losses to the Seattle Seahawks (20-12) and the Los Angeles Rams (35-7) entering this past week's Week 8 bye.

Coen in recent weeks has discussed reducing avoidable errors and staying in manageable down-and-distance situations offensively, as well as the need for better run-pass balance, with Lawrence on Wednesday saying the offense hasn't "played to our standard."

  • Travon Walkerlikes his progress.

And while the Jaguars' veteran defensive end on Wednesday declined to discuss specifics about the health of his left wrist and just how that wrist will be protected Sunday he said the areas is getting stronger and he's feeling better.

Walker after undergoing wrist surgery missed aWeek 5 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. He played with a "club" protecting the wrist against the Seahawks and Rams.

  • The Jaguars' faith in wide receiverBrian Thomas Jr.remains strong.

That was clear listening to Coen Wednesday, with the second-year veteran having caught 27 passes for 365 yards and one touchdown this season after playing in the Pro Bowl following a record-setting rookie season.

"It takes work, it takes patience, it takes time and you're just hopeful that it's going to be able to come to life here."

Thomas, the No. 23 overall selection in the2024 NFL Draft, also has had drops issues this season and is credited by FOX Sports as leading the NFL with nine drops through seven games.

Coen added that the Jaguars "still have a lot of confidence" in Thomas and the passing offense.

"I threw it 40 something times in the last two games," Coen said. "If I lost confidence in the pass game, I probably wouldn't have done that. "

  • The Jaguars on Wednesday issued their first of three injury reports for the week, with safetyEric Murraymissing practice with a neck injury.
  • LinebackerDevin Lloyd, the AFC's Defensive Player of the Month for September who missed the loss to the Rams with a calf injury, practiced limited Wednesday.
