The fund, formed earlier this year, invests in areas of need within the Black community. Seahawks Communications

The Seattle Seahawks are proud to continue to support the first-of-its-kind Black Future Co-op Fund and their efforts to strengthen culture, respond to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19, eradicate poverty, and build generational wealth in Black and African American communities throughout Washington state.

The Black Future Co-op Fund was launched in May by four Black women leading organizations working to end systemic racism plaguing our community; Angela Jones, CEO of Washington STEM; Michelle Merriweather, President and CEO of the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle; Andrea Caupain, CEO of Byrd Barr Place; and T'wina Nobles, President and CEO of Tacoma Urban League. The fund was launched with over $2.5 million in committed donations, including $100,000 from the Seattle Seahawks Charitable Foundation, and a $250,000 donation from the Paul G Allen Family Foundation.

All funds donated will be invested in areas of need within the Black community such as health, housing, education, youth development, art and history, economic and land development, and advocacy and civic engagement to reverse centuries of harm caused by systemic racism in our state. Funding these areas will help build a strong network and foundation for sustainable progress and serve as an opportunity for organizations to identify needs and allocate resources to best support the Black community.

Donations to the Black Future Co-op Fund are eligible to be matched by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who is matching donations of up to $1 million to All In WA causes, up to a total of $25 million.

The Black Future Co-op Fund is housed at the Seattle Foundation, which also houses the Seahawks Players Equality & Justice For All Action Fund. Click here to donate and learn more about the Black Future Co-op Fund and other All In WA causes.
